Is Nic just a loser who’s deluding himself, or does he really stand a chance at winning the badminton tournament? His demanding father, a former tennis champion certainly doesn’t think so. Bursting with off-beat humour, this brilliantly cast short film manages to highlight the ways in which parents routinely squash their children’s confidence whilst also revealing suburban Australia’s usually hidden fear of the growing Asian populace.
This short film was nominated as Best Short Fiction Film at the ATOM Awards (Australian Teachers of Media Awards) in 2012.
